About
Hello, my name is James Farrell and I'm a Urologist.
Raised in Ohio, I grew up in a doctor's home. My dad spent his medical career as one of two OB/GYN's in our town. I knew early-on that I too was called to the medical field, and in medical school I found myself drawn to Urology. I noticed the amount of positive outcomes and life-enhancing impacts urologists had on their patients lives. I knew it was the right fit where I could make a difference too. Service and stewardship also led me to join our military as a doctor. Fast-forward a decade and I am now the Chief of Urology at Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, TX.
I started this blog as a resource for my patients, and hope that people everywhere who are struggling with urological and broader medical issues find it a positive, useful source of information and understanding. I post videos weekly tackling a wide variety of topics, diagnosis, and questions. Most are urological in nature with an eye on whole-body health and the bigger picture--all with a little humor sprinkled in. If there's a topic I haven't covered that you would like to see, please email me through my contact page. I will do my best to work it into the lineup. Likewise, if you have doctors who you love and you think they'd be a good fit, then tell me who they are! I'll try to get them involved.
I hope you find this site a useful resource for all things pelvis, and start with my introduction video. Please visit often and live well.
